The convent performed charity activities, nuns carried out upbringing and awareness-raising work among parishioners. In the 50s of the previous century the authorities closed the convent, and the sisters living in it were sent on exile. The premises of the church started being used as mental hospitals. Almost 40 years later not far from the former convent a new convent appeared.
