A local legend says that the Monastery of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos was founded in the mid-XIIIth century by the monks of the Kyiv-Pechersk Monastery, who fled from Batu Khan’s attack and brought the Icon of the Mother of God that became famous with its wonders there. The complex is located in the southern periphery of the village, on a high plateau above a small pond. Now it consists of the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos and the remnants of the monastery building, attached to the east of it.
