The St. Trinity Stavropegial Convent-Fortress located in the central part of the town is an outstanding architectural ensemble of Korets. At first that used to be the Franciscan monastery founded in 1620 by prince Jan-Karol Korecki, the owner of Volyn. In 1830 the monastery was liquidated, the building was transferred to the Orthodox Church and the St. Trinity Convent was founded there. The complex includes the Trinity Church, cells with the convent canteen, a warm church, and a bell tower. The main building of the convent was the cathedral – basilica-like, rectangular one. The baroque decoration of the façades has been preserved. Characteristic of the Catholic monastery construction is a Г-like building attached at a right angle to the western part of the northern façade of the cathedral. The bell tower is three-tiered, with the first two tiers being square, and the upper one – an octagon.
