In 1475, in the times of the Halych principality, Jan Prokopovych, a village resident, became the first founder of the cathedral. The parish in Hvizdets was restored in 1710. The founder of the cathedral at the new stage was prince Michał Puzyna, a Lithuanian scribe, who founded a wooden residence in 1715, with the permission of Lviv Roman Catholic Archbishop Jan Skarbek — the Monastery of the Bernardine Fathers. The Cathedral was built of brick, plastered, with a small transept. The Western façade is decorated with two three-storey towers with baroque roofs. The main portal is decorated with double columns of Corinthian order. The interior contains remnants of stucco and wall painting.
